I have been working as an independent travel adviser since 2024, following a life-long personal passion for travel and detailed trip planning. I have spent over 18 years in senior, FCA-regulated financial services roles, where ethics, transparency and client care were central to my work. That background strongly influences how I operate as a travel adviser today. I now run my own independent travel business, offering carefully considered, well-researched holidays built around trust, attention to detail and long-term client relationships.
What do you like most about working in the travel industry?
What I enjoy most about working in travel is helping people plan experiences that are genuinely meaningful to them. Travel is often something clients look forward to for months or even years, and I value being part of that process from the earliest ideas through to a well-organised, thoughtfully planned trip. I particularly enjoy the research and planning stage, ensuring each holiday is tailored, realistic and aligned with what matters most to the client.
What are your speciality areas?
My core specialism is ethical, animal-based travel, with a focus on wildlife experiences that prioritise conservation, animal welfare and responsible tourism. I also specialise in carefully planned European city and short breaks, offering well-paced itineraries that balance culture, comfort and value, and suit clients looking for thoughtful, stress-free travel.
What destinations do you love to book for your customers and why?
I enjoy booking a wide range of destinations, particularly African safari countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa and Botswana, where thoughtful planning and the right local partners make a significant difference to the overall experience. I also love arranging European destinations for city breaks and short escapes, where attention to detail, location and timing can elevate a relatively short trip into something memorable and rewarding.
What is your personal favourite destination / holiday and why?
My favourite type of holiday is wildlife and nature-based travel, particularly safaris that allow time to slow down and observe animals in their natural environment. These experiences highlight the importance of responsible tourism and offer a sense of perspective that is difficult to find elsewhere.
